Zeh Lzeh – Yahrtzeit Tefillah

Sponsor a family’s order and we will daven for you and your family on the yahrtzeit.
Each family food package is worth about $400–$600, but through Zeh Lzeh it
costs only $48 to prepare. Your $48 sponsorship can be like giving up to
10× the value in food to a family in need.
Names for tefillah are accepted for donations of $48 or more. Any amount is appreciated.
About Zeh L’Zeh
Zeh L’Zeh rescues fresh, high-quality surplus food and redirects it straight to families who need it most – with dignity, precision, and zero waste.
Every day, stores, mosdos, simchas, caterers, and community partners have perfectly good food that would otherwise be thrown out. Instead of ending up in the garbage, that food becomes Shabbos seudos, weekday suppers, and Yom Tov tables for families across our community.
Our volunteer drivers pick up from more than 50 locations, completing over 125 pickups each week. The food is brought into our operations center, where it is checked, sorted, labeled, and packed in premium containers. Nothing is random: every tray is accounted for and every item is put to use.
Families don’t stand on line or take “whatever is left.” Through a private, choice-based ordering system, 236 families (1,256 people) select what they actually need and can use. Our team then builds custom orders and schedules dignified pickups, so it feels like coming to a store – not a handout.
Behind the scenes, a full operation keeps this going: staff, logistics, storage, packaging, utilities, and constant coordination between donors, drivers, and families. The result is a system where every rescued item has a destination, and every dollar stretches far beyond its face value.
By rescuing and redistributing this food, Zeh L’Zeh stops baal tashchis in a real, practical way – and at the same time lifts beautiful families, week after week, with fresh, high-quality food they can be proud to bring to their tables.
